Children’s Mental Health – Beyond the Green Paper. The Role of Practice-Based Evidence

This is the latest report from the APPG on a ‘Fit and Healthy Childhood.

It claims that a reformed 1983 Mental Health Act will not be effective unless/until the needs of children are ‘placed first, last and foremost’ – that poor mental health often presents itself in childhood and is often either ‘missed or dismissed.’ The report calls for a commitment to ‘joined up’ working from all agencies – that would be cost effective and have a positive impact on children’s health and welfare.
