The Fred Rogers Center - for early learning and children's media

The Fred Rogers Center recognizes the prevalence and tremendous power of digital media and technology in the lives of children, families, and educators. Used effectively, they can enhance children’s cognitive and social abilities, and can be incredibly useful tools for parents and educators. The Center is dedicated to helping children and adults thrive in the digital age, and ensuring that technology use complements children’s social interactions, play, and other activities with the caring friends and family in their lives.

In 2012, the Fred Rogers Center, in partnership with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, released a position statement, Technology and Interactive Media as Tools in Early Childhood Program Serving Children From Birth through Age 8which provided research-based guidance to early childhood programs and educators on effective uses of media and technology.
