The Health Gap | The Challenge of an Unequal World

On 10 Sept 15, Michael Marmot published his groundbreaking new book – The Health Gap.
In it he shares personal observations and policy recommendations for strengthening and building local communities.

In line with the book launch a number of related events were held, including a Masterclass at Mersey Fire and Rescue Service, where Michael Marmot answered questions and officially recognised the work of Merseyside, Cheshire and West Midlands Fire Services.

The three trailblazing services were awarded ‘Marmot Partnership Status’, following their work to identify and help the most vulnerable people, and to reduce overall health inequalities.

The event was attended by over 80 health professionals, and other practitioners from around the North West region.

The Institute will also co-host The Health Gap: A Conversation at UCL on 30 Sept.

And for those in and around the Bristol area, Michael Marmot will speak at this special event on 08 Oct from 7-8:30 PM, hosted by Bristol University’s MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit.
